FOCUS VOLLEYBALL CLUB is accepting online applications for the following Athlete Application period of Oct. 12 to 31.
Note: After this period, we be holding open tryouts for any unfilled positions in late November (for 13u/14u and 15u athletes) and the first week of December (for 16u/17u/18u athletes).

13u/14u Boys Program seeking athletes for the 2022 season
Our 13U/14U Boy Program has won 20 medals at provincials the past 21 years.  We are looking for more athlete to join our successful program.  Athletes of all abilities and experiences are welcome to apply for a position.

WHO CAN APPLY

Athletes new to club volleyball and also athletes (unsigned) from other clubs are welcome to apply for a position with the Focus organization.  As well, any unsigned Focus athletes are welcome to apply for a position.

HOW TO APPLY FOR A POSITION DURING THE OPEN ATHLETE APPICATION PERIOD OCT. 12 TO 31.

To apply for a position please go to www.volleyballbc.organd click on the “YOUTH” tab and then the “CLUB” tab.  Go to the heading “Competitive Guidelines” and you should get a link to an Athlete Application Form (this form will be activated on Oct. 12th)  Please complete the form and return it to Volleyball BC. Do not send it to Focus Volleyball Club.  (Volleyball BC will forward your application to us.  The age category criteria is listed below.

12U/13U - Born AFTER Sept. 1, 2008
14U - Born in 2008 or after Aug.31, 2007.
15U - Born in 2007 or after Aug. 31, 2006
16U - Born in 2006 or after Aug. 31, 2005
17U - Born in 2005 or after Aug. 31, 2004
18U - Born in 2004 or after Aug. 31, 2003

HOW TO APPLY FOR A POSITION ON A TEAM AFTER THE ATHLETE APPLICATION PERIOD ENDS OCT.31. (Registration for Tryouts)
Any positions on our teams that are not filled by Oct 31st will be filled by athletes attending tryouts that are tentatively scheduled at the Harry Jerome Sports Centre as follows:

15U Boys and Girls - Nov.28
16U/17U/18U Boys and Girls - Dec.5

To register for tryouts contact: focusregistrar1@gmail.com and provide the following information:  Name of Athlete, Gender, Birthdate and contact email address.  Registration for tryouts can occur any time after Oct. 1, 2021. Coaches will get back to athletes they wish to make an offer on the team for and in some cases the athlete may be asked to attend a tryout taking place in late November or early December before a final decision is made.

INDOOR CLUB SEASON NOTES:
Our club is based out of the Burnaby-TriCities area but we accept athletes from anywhere in the Greater Vancouver Area. Where we have more than one team at an age level we divide the teams by skill level (i.e. A and B teams).

The indoor club season generally runs from early December to the end of May. (We start practising in January).

 

Teams generally have 2 practices a week and attend 4 or more tournaments/events during the season.  These tournaments take place on the weekend.

 

Coaches have demonstrated passion for the game of volleyball and working with young athletes.  All of our coaches are expected to be certified through the National Coaches Certification Program.
